Created by Gillian Plowman and written as a tribute to her friend Jimmy ​Birchall, One Last Adventure tells the story of Johnnie and Rose who, in the lock down of 2020 take us back to the start of their relationship and the horrors of World War II. They share their memories and experiences and prepare for one last adventure.

Jimmy Birchall was a bomber pilot. He asked Gillian to write his wartime story – of the bombing raids, of being shot down, of his internment in Stalag Luft III and of the Long March. Some of his words have been included in this moving radio play, brought to life by Arts Dream in this 80th anniversary year of the end of the war.
