Founded in 2021 by Martin Elliott and John Dickson, The Gramophone Society is an informal gathering of music enthusiasts for the recordings of former times.
Heading into 2026 to its 5th anniversary, the Selsey Gramophone Society continues promoting, playing and discussing audio recordings of all music and speech genres in their traditional formats, namely 78s, 45s, vinyl, cassette and CD, using the Society's own acquired equipment.
Members are welcome to make their own presentations at future meetings,
and to make suggestions for the development of the Society.
The bar is open from 12pm for tea, coffee and other beverages.
Please come along and join us. Bring a friend too. We look forward to hearing your presentations, your stories and your wonderful choice of recordings.

By The Sleepy Lagoon
a Musical Journey
presented by Selsey Gramophone Society
as part of the
Festival of Chichester
On Wednesday July 1st 2026 we embarked on a metaphorical musical meander to the shores of the "Sleepy Lagoon." Inspired by the natural beauty that moved composer Eric Coates. Our presenter Martin Elliott weaved together a rich tapestry of audio recordings relating to the history, sociology, and hidden landmarks of the Manhood area, while on the way.
